Do You Have Discipline?

Discipline in sports betting, like life, is a hard ask. People would like to think they have the discipline to contain their urges, cravings, addictions.....but sometimes there is a little voice inside speaking to you and your brain justifies the actions as maybe "one more time." If you don't have discipline in sports betting, you will go broke!!!

Our company has a created a policy to only do one pick a day for all sports, or if the slate looks bad, no picks. Yes, we would love to offer out dozens of picks that we lean towards (we call them our leans), but trying to go for multiple wins in a day is not only a losing proposition, it is also greedy.

This is a business, and greed will never win. Just like we advocate not to play parlays. Yes, they are fun, yes they can offer huge payouts for little money risked, but again, that is a losing strategy long term. We know there are other sports consultants out there (thank you for being a valued customer of ours) and some focus primarily on parlays and longshot odds that promise big wins for little risk. They are losers!!!! No matter how much they try and hide it. You will risk less, but will have no winning days and will slowly lose and lose your bankroll.

Decide Your Unit Amount

A unit is any amount of money that makes sense for YOU. It is the amount of money that you can afford to lose on any given day that you bet. It is an amount of money that you are okay with risking to lose and win. Make it a good amount, because it should never change. Your unit is how much you bet each day. If it's $1, $100, $10,000 it does not matter. That is the unit sizing or bet you make for each day's pick. No more, no less. This is a way to show discipline in your betting and not go off the rails with emotional betting. If you bet $100 and lose for the day, you are done for that day and down $100. You move on to the next day's pick and also bet $100. Another unit. If you win that bet you are now back to even and done for the day. If you lose, your down $200 and done for that day. You do NOT increase your unit sizing to try and "win it all back." This is how we spiral down the rabbit hole of degenerate gambling and lose our shirts. This is why to win in sports betting it is not get rich quick, it is a grind!

Keep it to one pick a day and one unit. This is not spread 3 units to 3 picks and hope you win more than you lose because you could be down 3 units in a day. Back to spiraling. You have better odds to win one pick than you do 3. So put your money into one bet and enjoy the ride!

Discipline is hard. Hard in life, hard in sports betting. We so badly want to put out multiple picks a day, but we do the work to narrow it down to the best and most perfect 1 pick we can find. 1 unit, 1 bet, 1 day. That is the only way to have a shot at being profitable in sports betting. Don't fall for the hyped up sports consultants that want to show you piles of cash that have won on an 8 team parlay and "if only you tailed them, you too could be rich!" Give us a break......Sound mind, sound picks and discipline will allow you to enjoy your sports betting business/hobby and give you the best odds of being a profitable winner!!!
